Questions, bugs, feature requests — write to us. One person reads this address, and usually replies within a few days.
It helps to say which iPhone and which iOS version you're on, and, for a parsing problem, exactly what you typed.
1What Sive is
Sive turns everyday notes — typed or dictated — into calendar events, reminders and to-dos. Write the way you'd think out loud (“dentist tuesday at 3, buy milk, gym tomorrow morning”) and the assistant proposes the items it understood. Nothing is saved until you approve it.
The assistant is an AI model that runs in the cloud, so the chat needs an internet connection. Your message is sent to be interpreted; your planner itself stays on your iPhone and in your own iCloud. What is sent, and what is not, is set out in the privacy policy.
Everything else in the app is local: the calendar, the to-do list, the home screen, and adding or editing any item by hand all work with no connection at all.
2Requirements
- iPhone with iOS 26 or later.
- An internet connection, for the chat assistant. Nothing else in the app needs one.
- Apple Intelligence — optional, and only for the offline fallback described in §4. Sive no longer requires it.
- An iCloud account, if you want your plan backed up and carried to a new phone. This is optional.
3The assistant isn't answering
The chat tells you which of these it is. In order of likelihood:
“I couldn't reach the assistant” / “I need a connection for that”
The request didn't get through. Check Wi-Fi or mobile data, and that Sive isn't blocked under iOS Settings → Sive → Mobile Data. A captive Wi-Fi network you haven't signed into yet — a hotel, a café, an airport — looks connected to the phone and isn't; open a browser page to sign in first. Then try again.
If you're often without a connection, see §4.
“You've reached today's limit” / “this month's limit”
There is a fair-use limit on how many messages the assistant will answer, high enough that ordinary use never approaches it — it exists to stop runaway usage, not to ration you. The daily one lifts shortly after midnight, the monthly one at the start of the next month. If you hit either in normal use, please write to us: that's worth knowing about.
“I couldn't confirm your subscription”
The app couldn't verify your purchase with Apple. Try Restore purchases in the app's Settings → Subscription, and check you're signed into the App Store with the Apple Account you bought Sive with.
“The assistant isn't set up on this device yet”
This one shouldn't happen. It means the app couldn't reach the assistant service at all. Please write to us — with your iPhone model and iOS version — because it points at something wrong on our side, not yours.
“That's a lot of requests at once”
Too many messages in quick succession. Wait a minute and carry on.
“The assistant is temporarily unavailable”
The assistant service has been paused on our side — a maintenance stop, or a monthly spending limit reached. Nothing on your iPhone needs fixing and retrying won't change it; try again later, and if it lasts more than a day, write to us.
“Something went wrong on my side”
A fault on our end or the model's. Send the message again; if it keeps happening, write to us.
4Working offline
If your iPhone supports Apple Intelligence, Sive can fall back to Apple's on-device model when there's no connection, so the chat still does something on a plane or in a dead spot. It's on by default and can be switched off in Settings → Sive Assistant → Offline.
Two things to know about it. It is substantially less accurate than the normal cloud model — expect missed items and wrong times, and read the card carefully before approving. And replies it produces are labelled in the conversation, so you always know which one answered.
If the switch is greyed out, this iPhone can't run the on-device model. That usually means Apple Intelligence is off in iOS Settings → Apple Intelligence & Siri, is still downloading in the background, or isn't supported by the device. The rest of the app is unaffected either way.
5Language
Sive is English-only. The interface and the assistant are both English; writing in another language will not parse reliably. Support for more languages is something we'd like to do properly rather than badly — write to us if you want one in particular.
6Dictation
Tap the microphone in the message bar and speak; the text appears in the box, where you can edit it before sending. Sive uses on-device speech recognition, in English — the audio never leaves your iPhone. The text it becomes is then sent like anything you type, once you press send.
If nothing is transcribed, check that Microphone and Speech Recognition are allowed in iOS Settings → Sive, and that another app isn't holding the microphone.
7Notifications
Reminders alert you at their time, and there's an optional daily morning recap of what the day holds. Calendar events don't notify by themselves — give one an advance notice (“remind me an hour before”) and Sive creates the reminder for it.
If nothing arrives: allow notifications in iOS Settings → Sive, and check that a Focus mode or Scheduled Summary isn't holding them back. Recap time and default advance notice are in the app's Settings → Notifications.
8Your data and iCloud
Your events, reminders, to-dos and categories are stored on your iPhone and backed up to your own private iCloud, so they survive deleting the app and follow you to a new phone. We have no access to any of it, and no copy of it.
Your conversation with the assistant stays on the device and is never synced.
What the assistant does send, when you write to it, is the message itself — plus, when the message might be about something already saved, the saved items it needs in order to answer. The privacy policy lists this exactly, and explains who handles it.
To turn the backup off: iOS Settings → your Apple Account → iCloud → disable iCloud for Sive. If items don't appear on a second device, check that both are signed into the same Apple Account with iCloud Drive on, and that the app has been opened on each.
9Deleting everything
Settings → Data → Erase all data removes every event, reminder, to-do and message, and cancels the scheduled notifications. With sync on, it clears the iCloud copy too. Deleting the app removes the local copy; the iCloud copy is removed by erasing first, or from iOS Settings → your Apple Account → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.
There is nothing to delete on our side — we store no messages and hold no account for you.
10Your subscription
Sive is a paid app, and Apple handles everything about the purchase — we never see your payment details.
- Manage or cancel: iOS Settings → your Apple Account → Subscriptions.
- Restore on a new phone, or after signing back in: the app's Settings → Subscription → Restore purchases. Use the same Apple Account you bought it with.
- Refunds are handled by Apple, at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue one ourselves.
The current price and any trial are shown in the App Store and in the app before you buy.
11Reporting a bug
Write to sive.app282@gmail.com with:
- your iPhone model and iOS version;
- what you did, what you expected, what happened;
- for a parsing problem, the exact text you sent and the items you got back — a screenshot is ideal.
Don't include anything private in the screenshot; we don't need it, and we'd rather not have it.
